BBS Construction, our client Dartford Borough Council, Dartford Valley Rugby Club, HMY Architects and all consultants and subcontractors involved in this project are so proud of what has been achieved. The building has surpassed everyone’s expectations and has become a real community hub.
The building its self looks stunning commanding views across the River Thames and provides state-of-the-art training facilities for a growing rugby club. HMY Architects have designed a functional yet modern looking building with room to expand and extend in years to come if required.
The quality of the building is first class and strikes you the minute you reach its glass atrium entrance. This quality continues throughout the building and the club’s colour – red, is integrated within every room.
With sustainable materials utilised and an impressive record, both during construction and afterwards, of employment and training opportunities, this building has offered so much to so many people.
Now fully occupied, the building has been opened up not only to club members, but to the whole of Dartford and surrounding areas. The club has forged a strong relationship with the local school, offers cinema and meals to the elderly community, new mums classes, fitness classes to all levels, educational opportunities, and even a financial advice service to local residents.
The building has given both the rugby club and the local community, a massive step up in rejuvenating a once deprived area and is the first stage to a much larger Dartford regeneration project.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the project and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this local rugby club can reach ‘national status’ in the National Building & Construction Awards 2020!
